The best of both sides with the Self Guided Spain and French Basque country by bike . 4 stages and circular route through this iconic landscape with ease and enjoy the views over this spectacular corner of basques. This route blends nature, quiet backroads and contact with the naturals, the basques.
Leaving San Sebastian heading East and passing the maritime villages of San Juan de Pasajes and Hondarribia . 2 boats will be taken to cross the rivers, the second will pass the border between Spain and France. Following the seaside roads along the “corniche” you will reach the typical basque and french fishing town of Sant Jean de Luz. Then turning towards the inland in order to visit the gorgeous villages of Espellette, Askain and Sara. Cycle uphill to cross again the border to Spain through an affordable summit and dowhill, the town of Bera de Bidasoa , already in the region of Navarre.
Last stage is an amazing Greenway of Bidasoa until the city of Irun and finally you will reach San Sebastian along backroads

Pre-stage
Arrival in San Sebastián and you move on our own to the accommodation hotel for the first night. Take free time to visit the old city where you Will find the world famous “Pintxo” or “Tapa”, the unique miniature food based on excellent raw materials. The establisment, also called Bar, have the counters plenty of this excellet and varied food.
STAGE 1
San Sebastián – Hondarribia
Breakfast and departure along the city bike lane to Pasajes San Pedro. We will take the boat to cross in 3 minutes to the other side, where is the medieval town of Pasajes San Juan. Beginning of the ascent to Mount Jaizkibel (450mts.). Downhill to the border town of Hondarribia
STAGE 2
Hondarribia to Bayona
After crossing the Bidasoa river, we take the bike paths next to the beach and you will ride along the coastal road, called “La corniche”, towards the charming town of Saint Juan de Luz. Visit of this typically Basque town. You will continue along local roads and near the Basque coastl crossing the villages of Guetary, Bidart until reaching the glamour and nice town of Biarritz.Leaving Biarritz in the morning, we will continue along the Eurovelo local road, that goes paralell the coast until reaching Bayona village , the capital of the French Basque Country.
STAGE 3
Bayona to Bera Bidasoa
Leaving Bayona you will take the quiet path that runs parallel to the river la Nive until Uztarritz, then you reach the point where will take you along the inland road passing through the traditional Basque Villages as Espellette, Ainhoa y Sara. Now you will pass through the Pyrenees mountain and downhill you will finish in Bera de Bidasoa in Spain .
STAGE 3
Bera Bidasoa to San Sebastian
This easy stage will take you until San Sebastián city . You willl bike along the Bidasoa Greenway that will take us to the Border town of Irun. You will pass throuhg the town along the Bike Way . Leaving the town of Irun , you will take a backroad , reaching the Little town of Oiartzun. From this point the Bike way you will arrive to San Sebastian
